Lofton, ESR Return To Kentucky Improved, Ready For Final Stretch
Last race review: Justin Lofton and the No. 6 CollegeComplete.com (http://www.collegecomplete.com) Eddie Sharp Racing (ESR) team had a strong showing in New Hampshire last Saturday after taking the green flag from the seventh starting position, Lofton's highest starting spot of the season to date. However, a severe vibration late in the race challenged Lofton as the laps clicked down. He held on and drove his No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet to 15th at the finish. The 15th place effort was his tenth top-15 this season.
Kentucky Countdown: Entering Kentucky, only six events remain in the 2011 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) season. Lofton currently sits 15th in the driver point standings with two top-10s, a best finish of seventh, and a best qualifying effort of seventh. To date, he has completed 95.2% of the laps run, compared to all of 2010 when he completed 91.4% of the laps. 2011 also provided Lofton with his first laps led after leading the way for seven laps in Kansas in June.
Lofton at Kentucky: During the tour's first stop to Kentucky in July, Lofton started 17th and finished 15th. The race marked his return to ESR and his first with long-time friend Dan Bormann serving as crew chief. At the time, Lofton was 19th in the point standings. Entering the race this weekend, he sits 15th. Additionally, team owner Eddie Sharp was 22nd in the owner points. This week, the team shows 18th. In previous visits to the Cincinnati-area race track, Lofton has two top-five finishes (second and fifth), scored during his 2009 title run with Sharp within the ARCA Racing Series. Last season he earned an 11th place finish in his NCWTS debut at the track.
Truck information: Lofton will race chassis 060 this week at Kentucky Speedway. It will be the second time Lofton has raced this chassis. He last raced it two weeks ago at Chicagoland Speedway, which was ESR's debut with Chevrolet. Lofton started the event 15th, and finished the event 15th. The truck comes from the Kevin Harvick Inc. stable.

Lofton on Kentucky Speedway: "Kentucky is an important track to us since it is where we reunited. It was our first race back at ESR, and we had a good run. Kentucky is a fun track, and I always love racing under the lights."
Leading into Las Vegas: Next weekend Lofton and the No. 6 CollegeComplete.com ESR team will observe an off week from competition, but that doesn't mean they'll be slowing down. In fact, as his No. 6 team readies for the remainder of the 2011 season, Lofton will be planning his double-header for the following week. While the NCWTS tour heads to Las Vegas on October 15th, the Best in the Desert Off Road Racing Association will be in Parker, Arizona. As Lofton climbs behind the wheel of his No. 6 CollegeComplete.com Chevrolet in truck competition, his father Bob will be in Parker, racing the family's No. 1577 Class 1500 Buggy. Following the Smith's 350 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, the younger Lofton will head to Parker to revisit his roots by splitting seat-time with his father during the final stretch of the off-road event.
